Private Sessions
in Cork & Limerick
All private sessions are uniquely designed based on your individual goals and needs. Each session is different, accommodating, and builds on previous sessions. Sessions are scheduled & paid for online prior to the first session. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy for all in-person sessions. During your session you will work with Brigitte one-on-one together for 55 minutes. First checking in, then practicing movement, breathwork, mindfulness, etc... to meet your yoga therapy or rehabilitative Pilates goals.
Each session builds on the last. Clients who purchase a package will receive a home "care plan" to work on in-between sessions. Depending on your timeline and goals we recommend at least one session per week to maintain consistency and build on the progress of each week. You may choose to schedule sessions more or less frequently based on your chosen care plan.

Pilates Sessions
Whether you are prenatal, postpartum, peri or post menopausal, post-op, recovering, or living with a chronic pain, you will be met where you are at to help you move in a direction that feels right for you. If you are currently in treatment, Brigitte can work collaboratively with your health care provider to help you take the next step towards wellness.
If you have tried Pilates mat or reformer classes in the past but never worked 1-1 this is your opportunity to experience the entire Pilates method with other pieces of apparatus that are used to support, challenge, and facilitate growth within your movement practice. If you have an injury, you will see how the entire method can support you during your recovery as well.
At Rooted, we feel very fortunate to provide quality over quantity in a time when nearly every town has a busy group reformer studio and every gym has a busy mat or Pilates fusion class. Brigitte was trained by first and second generation Pilates elders & experts, several of her teachers trained with Joseph and Clara Pilates themselves. Pilates (originally called Contrology) is not a trend despite it becoming very popular in recent years. It is over 100 years old and over the past 30+ years Brigitte has felt very fortunate to have this method in her life. Each client should leave feeling informed, tuned in, stronger, and more confident in their body and its ability to move them through life. The goal at Rooted is never to have the client get "good" at Pilates. Instead, the goal is to utilize this method to best assist the client as they work towards their movement goals in real life. As a result clients do notice that Pilates (along with all movement) becomes easier for them the more they practice mindfully and learn about their body in motion.
What Happens in a Private Session?
Prior to your first session you will be asked to fill in a new client intake form. This will be reviewed during our session time and we will chat for about 15-20 minutes so that your goals are expressed and any questions or concerns are discussed. We follow the intake discussion with some breathwork, movement, and relaxation. During which time we will get to know eachother and see how the movement and cues are translating into your body. We will also discuss the space and props best used for future sessions and potentially have some homework for the time between sessions. An idividualized care plan is later developed that we can follow and adapt as needed. Follow up sessions build on the session prior. It is recommended that Rooted Perinatal private clients pick a regular time they can commit to consistently to see progress and get the most out of our work together.
What is the Signature Rooted Approach?
At Rooted we believe that all movement is good movement but how, when, and why we move matters too. Our goal is to get you moving to your own optimal state of comfort and ease, to find joy in movement sessions, and make new discoveries about your own body and the miraculous ways it carries you through life!
Each session combines breathwork, release, strength, focus, and balance. Rooted movement is a unique blend of contemporary & post rehabilitative Pilates, therapeutic yoga, myofascial techniques, pelvic health education, and stress management techniques. The goal of Rooted is to help each client feel & move their best.
 What Clients Are Saying...
“I started working with Brigitte after having my first baby. As a long-time Pilates teacher, I’ve studied pre- and postnatal Pilates and worked with many clients in this realm. I quickly learned that Brigitte’s skills and knowledge are unparalleled. Her attention to detail and highly nuanced work has helped me to understand the necessity for resetting my nervous system and working on Myofascial release in addition to the strength work I love so much. It’s made me realize how deep this work can go and how my previous trainings have only scraped the tip of the iceberg on pre- and postnatal work. Not only is she amazing at teaching Pilates, she has helped me to mentally wrap my brain around many issues that have come up postpartum.”
-Sarah Carrasco, Owner of Moontower Pilates
Â
“Everytime I finish a session with her, I feel aligned, stretched and tall. Brigitte is a great at making me comfortable, simplifying the movements and experiences for easier understanding and pushes me to be stronger in or out of the studio.”
-Allue Hortalenza, Business Owner
Â
“I booked an online Pilates session focusing on my pelvic floor with Brigitte (Rooted Boston owner) and during the session she assisted me in releasing the muscles of my cheek where I have some lasting trauma from an injury. This session was a game changer!! I’m feeling muscles & nerve innervation I haven’t felt in nearly twenty years and my smile is coming back! I highly recommend Brigitte!”
-Jessica Kondrath, Pilates Instructor & Choreographer

“Brigitte is extremely knowledgeable and experienced with all things pregnancy and post-pregnancy. I've seen her for postnatal rehabilitation. She gently guides you through various exercises while educating you on why you are performing the exercises. She is a rare gem.”
-Tina Lesh Coll, Pre & Postnatal Yoga Instructor

“As a physical therapist it is so refreshing to find someone who is so knowledgeable about the human body and aware of how the body changes during pregnancy.”

Whether you are peri or post menopausal, perinatal, pre-op, recovering from an injury, or living with a chronic condition, you will be met where you are at to help you move comfortably. What to expect?
Our studio only sees one client at a time whereas some studios schedule several clients & trainers in the same space having to share or wait to use a particular piece of apparatus. Brigitte feels that this added layer of privacy is especially helpful when working with perinatal and pelvic health clientele. You deserve the full attention of your teacher or yoga therapist.
Our private sessions are offered in 2 pathways. You can choose either pathway to work with us or get the signature Rooted blend of both if you prefer. One pathway is to see us for private Yoga Therapy sessions. The other is private Pilates sessions. These private sessions differ from group classes as they are only designed with you in mind. There is no agenda beyond the health history, goals, or concerns you may have shared with your teacher. We move at your pace, take breaks at your pace, and answer any and all questions as they come up. These sessions are science backed, effective, and hand designed just for you!

What is Yoga Therapy?
“Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga." -International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT)
Who is this best for? Anyone who feels they could use some support in their life. Is there something you have been hoping to start, do, or change that you could use support with? Yoga Therapy sessions can be a collaborative way to approach these transitions. Sessions will be carried out privately in-person and a care plan is created with the client to meet their needs and goals. Very often this plan will involve some reflection, homework, and self practice as well as repeat sessions to check in and add to or adapt the care plan as needed. Whether you are coming back to movement after a knee injury, after a baby, or simply want to manage stress better in your daily life… yoga therapy can be a supportive and integrative approach to care. Sessions can be carried out with or without collaboration from care providers who may also be supporting you in your goals with other therapies. (examples: physical therapy, midwifery, or chiropractic)
What is the difference between yoga sessions and yoga therapy? While yoga sessions may meet your physical needs and the nature of yoga itself is inherently therapeutic, yoga therapy is a bit different. Yoga therapy uses a whole system approach to address your needs and concerns. This approach works on physical, energetic, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels assisting individuals as they journey deep into their own Self discovery. Sessions may not always involve practicing asana (poses) or they may only on some occasions depending on the person, their goals, and their care plan. You can expect to talk, breathe, move, reflect, relax, observe, and make choices in these sessions. Your certified yoga therapist has taken years of training to provide you with up to date evidence based care plans to support your goals.
